Acrylic and mixed media on canvas
Unframed. Ships rolled.
In Greenboard (2026), Studio 198 presents an atmospheric abstraction that explores gesture, memory, and the expressive potential of mark-making. Working in acrylic and mixed media, the surface is built through layered applications—where movement accumulates into a dense, immersive field.
Drawing influence from Cy Twombly, the composition embraces a language of looping lines, scratches, and soft erasures. Marks drift across a tonal ground of green, suggesting both spontaneity and revision. The result is a surface that feels simultaneously immediate and considered, where each gesture carries a sense of time and process.
The scale allows the work to function as an enveloping presence within a space. It absorbs and reflects light subtly, with its layered textures revealing themselves gradually as the viewer moves around it.
This is a one-off original. There are no editions.
Created for collectors who appreciate gestural abstraction and material depth, Greenboard rewards sustained engagement—where surface becomes record and mark becomes language.
